本刊由中国力学学会生物力学专业委员会和中国生物医学工程学会生物力学专业委员会联合主办，是国内唯一一本公开发行，积极反映医学生物力学基础研究与应用研究成果，推动国内外学术交流，促进医、理、工各学科相互了解和合作为目的学术性刊物。报道内容主要包括医学生物力学领域中有关固体力学、流体力学、流变学、运动生物力学等方面的研究论文。

摘要：Introduction Because of the complexity and sophistication of the in vivo environment, to systematically study the behavior of cellular response to mechanical forces has mainly relied on the use of in vitro preparations. The parallel plate flow chamber is the most common used for applying fluid shear stress to cultured cells. Most studies used parallel plate flow chambers under steady flow, and only a limited number of in vitro studies concerned with the influence of pulsatile flow. Several kinds of flow chamber were developed which can provide pulsatile flow to cells ( Helmilinger et al , 1991; Ruel et al. , 1995 ;Tacobes et al. , 1998).
